In Fig. 1 three strings (DA, DB and DC) of equal length are shown and the weight of each string is ignorable.
All three ends A, B and C of the strings are in xy-plane and at the same distance (3m) from origin O.
Furthermore, points A, B and C have same distance from each other. The magnitude of tension in each
string is 5 N. Points B and D are on y and z axes, respectively.
a). Determine the coordinates of points A, B, C, and D in 3-D coordinate systems shown in Fig. 1.
b). Express the tension in each string as a vector.
c). Determine the projection of each tension force on z axis.
d). Express the resultant tension in vector form.
