Q1/ Two generators are interconnected by a reactor of 1 Ohm reactance per phase. The estimated short circuit capacity of the first generator is 900 MVA, whereas the estimated short circuit capacity of the second generator is 600 MVA, considering voltage of 11.2 kV at each generator. Calculate the fault capacity in MVA if a three phase symmetrical fault occurs at the first generator terminals. Assume 100 MVA base power. Q2/ A 3 kV, 3 MVA alternator has a solidly earthed neutral point. Its positive, negative and zero sequence reactances are 2.4 Ohm, 0.45 Ohm and 0.3 Ohm, respectively. The alternator was operating on no load, sustains a resistive fault between phase 'a' and earth of 1.2 Ohm fault resistance. Determine the fault current in Ampere.
