Subject

I need help identifying and analyzing a human rights issue in novel (Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes). I added a bit of text to show how it relates to real-life issues and affects people within the United States. I would appreciate the help with finding a real-life issue from one other country. I am adding my research I've constructed for this response, I just want and need the help from a tutor on how to construct my outline efficiently.

I will attach a link down below in the comments to the novel

The novel Flower for Algernon shows one of the many forms of human rights violation. At the beginning of the story, Charlie Gordon lives an ordinary life working as a cleaner at a bakery. His intellectual incapacity became a turning point in the story when he was offered to undergo a procedure to improve his intellect.  Though he cannot decide for himself and not in the right state of mind, Charlie was made to undergo the procedure. This lack of consent is undoubtedly an exploitation of human rights and not morally and ethically upright. The human rights issue that was presented in this novel was that even if a person is disabled, he or she has the right to be informed and have the right to understand the consequences with the guidance and permission of his or her parents or guardians and must be carefully taken care of in all medications he or she may undergo. However, Charlie, a character of this novel, experienced a period of the "American Scientific Experiments"- who had that if it is ethical to do or perform a possible harmful experimental procedure to an individual who does not fully comprehend what will happen even so they will continue because they believe that it would greatly benefit him the patient like Charlie. Charlie's experiment at first was a success. However, later on in some parts of the book, he had these adverse effects, which slowly deteriorated his brain and body.
