Please create a thread in response to one of the following questions. Be sure to note the number of your question in your subject line, so everyone can see who is posting on what easily. When you craft your response, you must bring in one of the critics we have read this week (Reitz or D. A. Miller) or one of the earlier critics we have read (Knight or Elizabeth Miller) to develop your response.  You should incorporate precise paraphrases and/or quotations from the critic as part of your analysis of specific passages from The Red House Mystery. 

 1) The murdered man is assumed to be Robert Ablett, the long-lost and disreputable brother of Mark Ablett, the owner of the Red House. It is highly significant that he was sent to live in Australia, and then is supposed to suddenly reappear. What does "Australia" signify in the world of the novel, and what does it mean that the threat to peace and safety in the Red House is assumed to be coming from a foreigner and outsider? Select a few specific passages both from your critic and the novel to analyze to develop your ideas.
