This question was created from Reflection Paper Flight from Conversation.docx

does this reflective essay focuses on the issue that the article "Flight form Conversation" wants to address?

Being connected to technology allows a person to always feel connected, which prevents us
from being alone. Sherry Turkle stated in the article that Technology has allowed us to be "alone
together," ca using individuals to be connected to whoever wherever. Meaning we do not have to be with
them literally to have their presence. With the use of technology, or phones, tablets, and laptops we can
easily be with them even though we are hundred miles from them. Like some of us whose parents work
abroad. We can be with them using just one device. Technology has been incorporated into work.
Workforce is becoming less interactive because of a lack of communication and the overabundance of
technology. was mentioned in the article how a businessman laments that he no longer has colleagues at
work because of technology. People have become "too busy" to sit and have a conversation. To young
people who are scared to converse come into work with headphones so those around them do not
engage in conversations with them. For some of them who really are shy they tend to use this method
which for them they tend to think that this helps them to get through a certain conversation, but the
truth is they are missing the opportunity to learn and try to speak from themselves. As per Human relations. we are becoming more and more digital to the point that we really
don’t need to do that much work to get something done or to be able to converse with others.
Technology influences what people say and how they say it through messages. Sometimes through technology, individuals leave out information, essentially not getting their complete thoughts and
feelings out to the other person. This impacts their conversation and the way in which they make connections. Which results to people not seeing things from another‘s point of view lEZIIur lives1 have changed over time since the introduction of technology. For us millennials some
of us fears conversation and is uncomfortable being alone without having a device and for that people
rely so much on technology that people begin to expect more from technology and less from one
another. And as the years go by, we are lacking face- to- face conversation, that are missing opportunities
to learn patience and how not only to converse each other, but how to converse with yourself as well. For me there are a lot of negative effects as much as there are good ones. This technological
advancement greatly influences the developing state of our intimate social interactions. We lose intimate
relationship with others. We lose the ability to learn social cues and body language in other individuals.
We should take some time to think of how overtime people have become so fixed on technology for
communication that conversing is a challenge for today's generation. The world should spend less time
on devices, look at one another, and start a conversation. In order to create face- to- face conversation
again without the help of technology, people should make their environment "device free.“ To remedy
the technology dependency, we should start interacting without the use of electronics because this
utilization can lead to people being alone, which prevents them from self-reflection.
