I nrougnout watcnlng these videos I saw multiple strategles that I would emulate In my
own classroom when trying to incorporate standards. academic vocabulary, and classroom
discourse. In one video the teacher had a student run group discussion to make sure her students understood the required academic vocabulary that was coming up on a test. This is a
great way to gauge on how well your students understand the vocabulary. If they can successfully use the required vocabulary in a discussion correctly then they have a great
comprehension of what the terms represent. During another video a math teacher let his
students break up into groups and develop an answer to math problem. During this lesson the
class showed great classroom discourse, quietly and effectively discussion a solution to the
problem. When he brought the class together the students raised their hands to talk about their
answers. Simple rules like raising your hands to add to a group discussion is a great strategies
