A Farewell to Arms "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway is a novel that scrutinizes the transition of the protagonist,IFredric Henry. A young American ambulance driver serving in the Italian army during World War I. In this novel, a situation is provided when Henry's lack of attention on war changes after it took a physical and mental toll on him. When Fredric Henry was faced with the loss of a fellow friend, I related to Henry's counteraction of loss and perspective change. When almost losing my friend twice to drug addiction, I realized when the life of someone close is taken away, the best thing is to help make a change for the better. Fredric Henry's role in the war made him overlook the major extensive impact of what was happening because he did not feel as involved. After the virtuous killing of a fellow mate, Henry felt a need for peace. A realization that there needs to be a unity between the nations. After almost losing my friend twice to drug addiction, I knew I needed to create a separate peace in his mind. Therefore, constructing a peacemaking approach between every day conflicted society and a harmonious state of mind. Conclusively, "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway, administers a situation of conflict that impacts an individual's life. Furthemiore, establishing a change in perspective and sensibility towards conflict. Thus, Fredric Henry opening his eyes to the negative impact and ferocity of the war going on around him.
