Life of Pi by Yann Martel, I need help with finding a general opening

statement that Pi does believe in the three religions. the general opening statement shouldn't be talking about the novel yet related to it such as if I wanted to talk about if pi version of the story was true my general opening will be "Some animals are friendly and some are scary". Can you handle the consequences when your most scared animal trap together with you? my thesis is Following one religion is plausible, although following three religions seemed more realistic.
