This assignment is an After-Action Assessment.  You will review your first essay and the feedback you have received from your instructor.  You should receive a downloaded file with comments and/or tracked changes from your instructor. For this assessment, you will present a thoughtful, well-researched, organized evaluation of what worked, what did not work, why, and what you have found to help you manage the opportunities for improvement that your instructor has pointed out to you.


Given the feedback that your instructor has provided inside the track change and comment bubbles (not the rubric), you will accomplish all the objectives listed above within five days of receiving your returned essay and grade.  For instance, if your paper is submitted for grading on Sunday, your paper should be returned no later than the following Friday. You then have Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and until midnight Wednesday to return this assessment.


This assessment is graded.  You will not receive track-changed feedback even though the response will be run through Turnitin, unless expressly determined by your instructor that the assessment is not transparent enough based on the expectations in this directive.  


Failing to complete this report does have an impact on your overall grade.  There are four areas to cover in this assessment: Assets, opportunities, lesson/homework plan, and progress/further study. The total word count for this assessment is a minimum of 350 words and a maximum of 500.

1 Name etc? “Drug and Substance Abuse” Drug and substance abuse use has become so rampant all over the world. The world is drastically changing into a violent world where almost every person is into drug abuse. This is the story that is hitting headlines in all countries in the world. The young people make the largest number of those who indulge in drug abuse. The fact that the very young people who are expected to be the leaders and the generation of tomorrow are the ones who are busy wasting their young potential lives to drugs is disheartening. There is clear indication that we are living in a very immoral world whose future is dangling on a feeble string. Owing to the above alluded facts, this expose seeks to establish a critical analysis on the effects of drug and substance abuse to the youths on youth . A drug is any substance or product which when taken alters the normal functioning of the body of the individual. On the other hand, substance abuse is the use of a drug for other purpose s than the intended purpose and as a result damages the physical functioning of the body. There are several types of drugs that are commonly abused which include ; bhang, cocaine, tobacco and alcohol. Continued use of this these drugs lead s to addiction a state where the individual cannot do without this drug s . Most young people especially the students have been using this drugs and unfortunately they become addicts and slaves of this drugs. This consequently leads to poor performance in their academics, lack of concentration in studies and during classes and the worst

2 of all they end up joining evil gangs and start robbing people. The reason behind this these acts of terrorism by young youths is to obtain the money to buy this expensive drugs since they have already become their the drugs’ slaves and cannot do without them. Therefore, young people engage in terrorism and mainly they start stealing money from their parents and then graduate to more evil acts in the streets. Unfortunately, it does not usually work so well for them since there are laws that protect the people against this kind of such immoral acts and hence most of them end up in body bags after being shot by the police or if lucky enough end up in the prisons. That becomes the end of a sad story of young, potential ly and talented youths who could have become great and successful people in future just because of drug and substance abuse. Most young people are lured into drug and substance abuse by their friends and unable to resist, they succumb to peer pressure. However, there are those who do it at their own will seeking happiness, freedom as they call it and the urge to get high. This youths at their tender age are still struggling with mid-life crises trying to identify themselves with the world. They want to explore the world and its pleasures and feel big to abide to the advice of their elders. Consequently, they end up ruining their lives by engaging in drug abuse. In conclusion, this expose has critically analyzed the effects of drug and substance abuse to the youths. As illustrated, drugs destroy the lives of this youths and lead to the death of many. Drugs shut and terminate the dreams and goals of youths who could have become successful people In in the future.
