Each of the three cultural changes—agricultural revolution, industrial

revolution, and information-globalization revolution—have given us more energy and new technologies with which to alter and control more of the planet's resources to meet our basic needs and increasing wants. They also allowed expansion of the human population, mostly because of larger food supplies and longer lifespans. In addition, these cultural changes resulted in greater resource use, pollution, and environmental degradation and allowed us to dominate the planet and expand our ecological footprints.


The author's perspective on the three revolutions is:
a.) While beneficial to the environment, the three cultural revolutions have had very little impact on the rest of human life.
b.) The three cultural revolutions have positive impact on both human life and the environment.
c.) While the revolutions benefited human life, they have caused most of our environmental problems.
d.) The three cultural revolutions have been the cause of the decline in human population and quality of life.
