rounded person of the Renaissance? The ideal Renaissance man and woman are experts and skilled in many different
aspects which makes them well-rounded. These different categories that determine their
versatility consist of intellectual knowledge, the ability to cultivate, sophistication, athleticism,
and the ability to take control. The list continues. Castiglione's idea of the courtier reflects the
new ideas of a well-rounded person of the Renaissance by stating the ideal man should be a
medieval warrior with endurance and athleticism like a champion while also being educated. 2. In generalI how does Castiglione approach malel‘female roles in society? In
what ways should a man act? A woman? First and foremost gender roles during the Renaissance men had the ruling voice
over all decisions and woman had to work to be able to have any role in society by

education. Castiglione believes a man should act like a gentleman and live to their full potential.
Castiglione believes awoman should act very unlike a man. She should be knowledgeable in many ways much like a man. but still manage to keep her womanly
characteristics.
