I need a example of a response below so I can learn how to better respond to question:Black Girls Codemission
: to introduce programming and technology to a new generation of coders, coders who will become builders of technological innovation and of their own futures." (Black Girls Code, n.d.)Their mission states which industry it's in, which is technology. It also expresses that it exists to bring a new generation of coders to the programming and technology industry and says this will add value to the market by teaching coders to be technological innovators in the industry. However, this statement doesn't clearly say how it will compete and separate itself from its competitors. Although the mission isn't perfect, it does specify where it competes and what it plans to do and can lead to achievable Strategic goals.
"Our Vision: To increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls of color ages 7 to 17 to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures through exposure to computer science and technology." (Black Girls Code, n.d.)
The vision statement is good as it sets a broad, overarching aspirations for the organization by seeking to increase the number of women of color in the technology and computer science industry.
A plan is a guide that informs all parties of an organization about what its vision and mission is, what it values, what its goals are in the long and short term. A strategy defines how an organization is going to achieve its long-term success.
A goal is a future event that organizations aspire to achieve and sets objectives, or task to undertake to reach said goal. A manager would use goals in organizational plans to express specific results, situations or values it desires in a short or long term. The top-level managers of a Start-up tech company may create a standing plan with the goal to make their work place all-inclusive and a safe space for all. An objective of that plan might be to create policies, procedures and regulations to operate within that align with their goal.
