·       PART 1:
Health and Safety
Human resource personnel is expected to assure their company invests in proper training and education of the employees about safety and health in the workplace. It is necessary that the staff knows how to prevent different accidents, injuries, and work-related health problems. As well as ensure all managers, supervisors, employees etc. fulfill their roles and responsibilities by following proper health and safety protocols. For example, with the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is compulsory for human resource personnel to assure their company is following all given guidelines to avoid contamination.
In terms of career development, it is vital for me, as human resource personnel to ensure every employee is hired in the correct position. In addition, I must foster a culture where employees and supervisors work together to ensure workplace safety, establish administrative procedures that encourage employees to report unsafe conditions, and help to reduce costs associated with losses due to absenteeism injuries, Worker's Compensation, disability, and health care.
A health and safety human resource personnel has impacted my career in a positive way. When I was completing my internship as a pharmacy analyst back home in India, I learned through the hiring process how they hired me based on my strengths and weaknesses and my potential to perform well in my job, as well as with the understanding and knowledge I gained from degree. In addition, the human resource personnel ensured we followed the proper protocol of the work environment, such as using personal protective equipment while working with chemicals.
Training
          The HR Training and Development Manager is accountable for the employees' training requirements and career development needs, as they plan and administer training seminars, team building, supervise training staff, employee skill evaluations and manage conflict resolutions. To make sure employees do their work, any effective company has training in place. Employee training and development is important to me because it helps employees develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities.
          As far as career development is concerned, I, as human resource personnel assure that employees are acquiring quality training, overall skills training as well as professional training. The training and development have impacted my career in a positive way as an HR manager provided me with two months of training prior to the job initiation.
 
My Plan
What I would like to improve in both topics is remove the fear employees have of being disciplined or dismissed if they report injuries or improper training received, which can jeopardize themselves and their colleagues.
Goals:
1.     To conduct weekly meetings with employees of the organization to discuss any fears or concerns they have regarding the health and safety of the workplace environment.
2.     To make a training framework for employees to develop their skills which can enhance their performance and productivity of an organization to achieve business results.
