Flexible Professional Staffing (FPS) is a temporary employment agency that specializes in meeting the short-term needs for highly skilled technical employees of various companies. FPS negotiates contracts with its client companies in which it agrees to provide temporary employees in specific job categories for a specific cost.

When FPS receives an employee request from one if its client companies, a contract manager validates the request first. The contract manager reviews the terms and conditions of the contract with the client company and determines if the request is valid. The employee request is valid if the contract has not expired, the job category requested is listed in the original contract, and the requested fee falls within the range of negotiated fee range.

If the employee request is not valid, the contract manager sends the request back to the client with a letter stating the reasons why the request cannot be filled. If the employee request is valid, the contract manager enters the request in the system as an outstanding employee request.

Outstanding requests are handled by the placement department. In the placement department, the placement staff searches the list of the available professionals that the FPS maintains to find professionals that meet the criteria for the job category, experience and qualifications requested on the employee request. If a qualified individual is found, the placement staff contacts him/ her and asked to agree to placement. If the qualified professional accepts the placement, the employee request status is changed to 'filled' and the request is closed.

If the individual is not available, the next qualified individual is contacted. If the placement department is unable to find qualified individuals or they are not immediately available, the employee request status is changed to 'unable to fill' and the request is closed. After the request is closed, the client company is notified about the status of the request.
