Hello. Please help me!!!
Choose a personal research topic. Try to come up with an issue statement. It is probably best to research in California law, but researching in federal law is fine. On your memo, start off with a brief fact pattern (one or two paragraphs).
Use the following format for your memorandum:
FACTS: [Set forth a brief statement of the facts.]
ISSUE: [Set forth a succinct issue statement.]
There after, follow with three Rules of Law/Authorities, each followed by an Analysis.
1.2.3 RULE OF LAW / AUTHORITIES: (Each should be one paragraph. Summarize the authority)
1.2.3. ANALYSIS: (Apply the law to the facts of your case. Use facts from your statement of facts.)
Lastly, there will be a conclusion.
CONCLUSION: (In light of your analysis, predict what the outcome will be? Make sure that your Conclusion logically flows from your Analysis.)
Try to find a total of three sources, primary and secondary, that address the issue. Of those three sources, try to find at least one California statute and one California case that is pertinent to the issue.
