Directions: using the Bluebook provide the correct citation to the following fictional cases. 

 

1)     The US Supreme Court ruled on Thompson v. Kentucky in 2010. The opinion can be located in volume 403 of the official reporter, page 92; on page 121 of Vol. 381 of West's Supreme Court Reporter; and in Lawyer's Edition, second series, volume 16, page 201.

2)     You have located United States v. James from the 4th circuit in the spring of 2002 on page 487 of the Federal Reporter, volume 8, second series. 

3)     Keith v. Collins may apply to a case your attorney is working on. It is located in volume 57 of Michigan Reports on page 204, and on page 382 of volume 121 of the 2nd series of North Western Reporter. The case was decided in 2017. 

4)     The United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York heard Rhonda Rollins' case against Samantha Morrison and the opinion can be located on page 215 of volume 11 in the 3^rd series. The case was tried in 2016. 

5)     The Connecticut Court of Appeals upheld the conviction in Lopez versus the State of Connecticut in October of 1986. The opinion is published in the second series of the regional reporter, page 59, volume 9. 

6)     Mary Garcia lost the case she filed against Jennifer Davis, and appealed to 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2002. This federal opinion can be located on page 40 of volume 300 in the 3^rd series of this reporter. 

7)     In 1952, Jim Taylor won the appeal on his conviction for robbery in the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. Opinion can be located in the second series of the regional reporter, volume 41, page 98. 

8)     Cameron Young lost his claim against Steven Allen and appealed to the Massachusetts Appeals Court in 1992. The opinion is set forth in volume 202 of the regional reporter on page 114, and on page 117 of the official reporter, volume 16. 

9)     The federal district court in the Central District of California heard Mitchell's case against Nguyen in January of 2004. The opinion can be found on page 98, volume 218 of the correct series for this reporter. 

10)  The Court of Special Appeals in Maryland heard the defendant's appeal in the State's case against Timothy Hall in 2004. You have located the opinion in the 11th volume of the regional reporter on page 603, and on page 127 in volume four of the official reporter.
