Question

I have to come up with an equation from a word program. Evan put 2 L of water in a sink and went away on vacay. He

left a tap dripping which will add .2L of water to the sink each day. Find an equation of a line to describe the relationship between the amount of water in the sink and the number of days Evan is gone. I used Y=MX +B where 2 is B because that is how much water is in the sink so it is the y intercept. 2/10 is M because that is the slope of the line.

Evan's friend will be picking up mail. She notices the drip when there is 5 L of water in the sink. How may days into vacay will the sink get noticed. I calculated that it takes 15 days for .2 L of water to get from 2 L to 5 L. I just don't know how to show this in an equation and show the variables
