A company has run a 3-year transformation. The issue arose that they had probably three different points of inflection where they had to stop the transformation. This was causing a number of concerns, including financial concerns, regulatory concerns, the reputational risk at stake, and the sustainability of the services as it impacted maritime safety. The transformation had a number of different elements including organizational, cultural, and technological base.
The issue is primarily caused by the organization itself not having an independent perspective that the likely success the path to effect a transformation. Besides that, the operation was satisfied in its traditional operation method and continue to provide services in parallel to effect the transformation. In addition, the transformation approach that the company used was by adding additional capabilities in the same area, without separating and bringing-in new approach.
