While women have entered the work force in greater numbers, there remains a gender pay gap in which women typically earn smaller salaries than men who have the same levels of education and experience, and who perform the same types of jobs. In addition, according the American Association of University Women (AAUW), there is a race/ethnicity pay gap within the gender pay gap, with Asian-American women typically earning 90% of the salary typically earned by white men, and Hispanic women typically earning 54% of the salary typically earned by white men. White and African American women are in the middle, averaging roughly 79% and 65% of white men’s salaries respectively. Please discuss (1) why, IN YOUR OWN OPINION, Hispanic women earn LESS than Asian, Black, and white women and (2) why, IN YOUR OWN OPINION, Asian-American women earn MORE than Hispanic, Black, and white women. Also, (3) discuss why, IN YOUR OWN OPINION, why the gender gap pay gap persists. 2. (3) Define self-fulfilling prophecy and (4) discuss IN YOUR OWN OPINION, how self-fulfilling prophecy might affect the outcome of performance evaluations. 4. Alternate work arrangements include flextime, job sharing, and telecommuting. Define (1) flextime, (2) telecommuting, and (3) job-sharing. (4) Discuss which, IN YOUR OWN OPINION, is the best alternate work arrangement, and why?
