Hi, I have a problem with one of my assignments,

The question is:

A chain lying on the ground is 12 ft long and weighs 110 lbs. How much work is required to raise one end of the chain to a height of 7ft?

I only get 1/2 marks for it. I wonder what i'm doing wrong. Thanks for any help!

• i did integral(0,7) 110/12 * 9.8 * (7-h)dh which gives me 2200.916667. This answer got 1/2 Marks, for some reason your answer got 0/2.

• Your quantities are in imperial units. So, g will be 32.2 feet/s^2, instead of 9.8 m/s^2.
