A single-pass parallel flow heat exchanger will be used to heat a 0.50 kg/s stream of air
from 20'C to 35.C. The air will be heated with a 0.25 kg/s stream of hot water that
flows in the inside tube. UP=90 W/m . K for the heat transfer from the water to the
air. The hot water will enter the heat exchanger at 50 C.
a) Find the LMTD (answer: 16.5).
b) Find the tube length needed for the heat transfer (answer: 5.1 m).
