The Cafeteria Manager shall be responsible for but not limited to the following: supervises and evaluates all Food Service personnel; plans, organizes and supervises the food service program, following established procedures, maintains high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on appetizing and appealing meals high in nutritive values and flavor. Prepares or implements menu planning with emphasis on meeting daily nutritional needs of children, maintains high standards of sanitation and safety. Maintains records of food, supplies and equipment. Assumes responsibility for the quality and quantity of foods prepared with use of standardized recipes and portion control. Responsible for the selection, and assignment of food service personnel, provides on-the-job training of personnel to develop maximum efficiency and safety, establishes duties and work schedules for employees. Provides necessary information for financial accounting, including food and equipment inventories, selects and plans for efficient use of food, supplies and equipment. Works for harmonious relationships with school personnel, parents and students, and serves as a resource person for teachers in coordinating the school nutrition program with classroom instruction. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Business Services.
