An entrepreneur is starting a new business. The activities and times required are given below: (diagram on attachment)

A. Find the critical path and the project completion time.

B. What are the ES, LS, EF, and the LF for each activity?
An entrepreneur is starting a new business. The activities and times required are given below: A. Find the critical path and the project completion time. B. What are the ES, LS, EF, and the LF for each activity? Node Time ES EF LS LF Critical/non A 2 0 2 0 2 Critical B 4 0 4 3 C 4 2 6 D 5 2 E 3 F 5 G 3 If you feel you need help with the problem 5 Assignment the following may help: Problem 5: You are being asked to find the critical path for this project. 1. The first thing you will find helpful is to put together a table that looks something  like the one shown below:  Node Time ES EF LS LF Critical/non A 2 0 2 0 2 Critical B 4 0 4 3
C 4 2 6       D 5 2         E 3           F 5           G 3           I have given you a nudge on calculating the table values.  2. You next do the early starts  and early finishes  for each activity.  This is called  forward scheduling or the forward pass.  When you have done all these you  should arrive at a time when the last activity finishes.  This will be the time that it  takes to complete the project.  3. You next begin to work backward (backward scheduling, or backward pass) from  the end node to determine the late starts  and late finishes .  Ask yourself this  question for each activity: "If I now know the latest that this activity can finish, and  I know the length of time that this activity requires, then I should be able to  subtract the activity time from the late finish (LF) time to arrive at the late start  (LS)time."  4. All along the critical path  the early start and late start will be the same number.   This is also true for the early finish and late finish.  You should have enough information now to complete the table and to answer questions  5a and 5b. This is probably the last time that you will participate in a manual solution to a critical  path problem.  Be grateful that software has been developed that does this sort of thing  in microseconds if not sooner, and with startling accuracy.
