Online education should be an opportunity for instructors to impart information in ways that capitalize on the latest  and greatest technology. Instead, online learning can be static and boring. Even multimedia presentations are usually video clips of a professor standing behind a podium delivering a long and boring lecture. There are now a myriad of  Web 2.0 tools that can potentially enhance the online learning environment, but how can these be used to make  learning more interesting? The scenario:  You are the instructor for a section of BEHS103 at GSU and you need to develop a lesson plan for your class that  introduces the class to the history of distance education.  Activity: Do a web search on the history of distance learning and Web 2.0 tools for educators. As a response to this  conference, complete the following: 1) Write a paragraph about the history of distance education (not necessarily online education!) and be sure to  properly cite your references (URL's are fine for this activity) 2) Identify at least 2 Web  2.0 educational tools that you might incorporate into your lesson plan. In 2 or more  paragraphs, explain what the tools do and how you think you might incorporate them into your classroom so that  your class is interesting, interactive, and enhances learning. Again, be sure to properly cite your references,  including the URL for your Web 2.0 tools.
