at a Theatre. In the play, a large boulder must roll across the stage. You design a system to pull the boulder, but want to make sure the acceleration is not larger than half g. Your design includes a large bag of sand with mass mB = 3.0 kg hanging from the side of the stage via a string that goes over a solid disk pulley with mass mP = 2.0 kg and radius RP = 0.10 m. The other end of the string is attached to a massless axl through the center of a sphere on a flat horizontal surface. The sphere is painted to look like the boulder for the play and has mass mS = 4.0 kg and radius RS = 0.25 m. On cue, the bag of sand will be released from rest and fall towards the ground. This motion should cause the pulley to turn and the sphere to roll along the horizontal surface of the stage without slipping.
