Please urgent help needed in sport Psychology. Thanks
People act aggressively due to both environmental and biological factor. Individuals raised in abusive families are likely to be aggressive as a result of the inferiority complex. Moreover, some people are born with aggressive genes which predict their antisocial behaviors. In sports, the struggle for rewards signals the need for aggressive traits during competitions. The two strategies that can help athletes to control their emotions include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and meditation. CBT changes the athletes' perspective on a given sport, thereby enabling them to be less aggressive. Meditation allows athletes to concede defeat without exuding aggressive behaviors.
How do the theories of aggression help explain behavior?
