Erik Erikson suggested that people have one self. William James, famous psychologist and philosopher, suggested
that people actually have many identities. In fact, mainstream American psychology has always considered that people have one identity (and that people who exhibit more than one identity are mentally ill or in crisis). Discuss your thoughts on this subject: Do you agree with Erikson (and mainstream psychology) that people have one identity? OR do you believe that people may exhibit more than one identity? In addition, discuss experiences you have had that might suggest you are not as "integrated" as you think you are supposed to be.
