  • In the oral stage it occurs within the age of 2-3 years whereby the major development task is weaning, zones of pleasure are the lips mouth and tongue. In the anal stage it occurs at the age of 2-3 years the major development task is toilet training zone of pleasure is the anal. The third is the phallic stage that occurs at the age of 4-5 years zone of pleasure are the genitals, electra comlpex-attraction of girl child to the dad and oedipus attraction of boy to the mother. The fourth stage is the latency stage that occurs at the age of 6-11 years whereby there is identification of same sex peers and defense mechanism and the last stage is the genital stage where there is a mature sexuall intimacy.
