Group Goals
Educators in the 2-3's room use routines as an opportunity to support the development of self-help skills. As part of the planning for the new year, the room leader asks the team to develop a set of group goals which can be implemented as part of the daily routines. The goals should be achievable by the end of the year.
1. List two group goals that could be implemented during children's meal times. For example, 'The children will wash and dry their hands (with gradually decreasing educator assistance) before sitting at the table'.
Question 2
Many educators use both the terms 'program' and 'curriculum' to describe the process of planning for children. Nuttall and Edwards (2007) suggest that the meanings of the terms are in fact different.
a. Explain the differences between a curriculum and a program.
b. Provide the four factors, based on the EYLF, that educators may make decisions about the curriculum content.
