4. a) A person claims that 60% of Seattle residents oppose a making downtown Seattle a car-free zone.
Describe (in a few sentences) a process (similar to what we did in class but adapted for this problem) that
would use deduction to prove or disprove this claim. (Hint: if you are using deduction what does this
mean you must do in order to prove or disprove the claim? Make sure this is discussed in your answer.) b) Discuss (in a few sentences) the challenges you would encounter if you were to actually implement the
process you describe. c) Describe (in a few sentences) a process that is inductive that would allow you to evaluate the claim in
part a). What are the advantages and disadvantages to evaluating the claim in this way instead of
deductively? (Hint: think of the definition of Statistics from class.)
