I need help with this discussion post, please responed to it.

This weeks lectures brought up a few things that you don't necessarily think about when thinking about legalization of marijuana. The first thing I thought was interesting was that she brought up in lecture 30 how parents started becoming more involved in their children's life and learning the different laws and things like that to help prevent their kids from becoming users. This brought up the question of how that relates to todays younger generation using more of marijuana, or other drugs in general. Could it be that the reason drugs are higher rate now in younger ages because of those who were born in 1980s and on didn't like their parents being so involved in their life (watching their every move) and they want their kids now to have freedom? Or could it be because parents are so busy they use technology to occupy kids and aren't really involved? To me it's interesting that they all of sudden got involved so much in 1980 that she made a point to say that, and now it has dwindled back down to children run their parents and no one really watches them. Also the fact that since history repeats itself, do you think that we are due for another burst of parents wanting to be more involved like this again?

Another point she brought up was if it is legalized what will be set as the limit someone can drive under the influence with it, how will that be measured by authorities. There is the big movement going on now that buzzed driving is the same as drunk driving, do you consider being high being the same as buzzed when you drink? There are affects you feel after smoking it, so wondering how they could measure that is interesting. Also, it was brought up about big corporations getting involved in the selling if marijuana is legal, how do you think the government should regulate price, amount, and also the chemicals used in the process? There are numerous things that are considered "safe" by the FDA, so knowing how to regulate it on this product and side effects would be key.
