A student must like a teacher

in order to learn from the teacher.

Use specific reasons and example to support your opinion.

Today, so many motivation solutions for better learning of students have become invented. There is a controversial argument among different groups of people, whether a student just like a teacher to learn from a teacher or not. In his essay, I plan to serve the sole purpose of weighting plus points and minus points.


To begin with, one group of people believes there are two fundamental factors which play the most important role in the learning: knowledge and the modern technique of the teacher and these two factors lead students to acquire their desire knowledge, even the teacher is likable or not. For instance, in class, there is a wide variety of students with different learning intelligence. Some of the students are fast and some are slow learners. In this situation, the knowledge and also the way those modern techniques help the teacher to deal with slower students and also teach them how to manage themselves the learning process and don't feel disappointed in comparison with other students. Another example to support this idea is in the university the students had to pass some difficult courses to get a degree even students do not like their teacher. Furthermore, there are lots of studies that shows that some other skills of teacher like emotional intelligence (EI) ability in predicting student achievement can also be considered as one of the main learning factors. For instance, one research demonstrates how the teacher 's EI ability has a positive effect in promoting students' achievement, by enhancing the effects of students' self-perceptions of ability and self-esteem (Cursi, Lanciano, Soleti, 2014, p.1)

On the other hand, there is another group believes that a student must like a teacher to learn to excel because in this way, students pay more attention to the lessons and as a result, they are more motivated to do their homework and also, to improve their qualification for next session, as well as they, encourage to learn everything since they have higher self-satisfaction and self- confidence. For instance, when I was a student, I hated mathematics lessons since my teachers were rigorous, robust and unkind to all students. In the middle of the term, my teacher changed and with the coming new teacher learning mathematics was miraculous and desirable. He was a kind-hearted and charismatic person. His teaching method was so innovative and was based on practical practice and gamification. Moreover, he was so kind and nice to all the students. From the beginning of his work, he understood that I had some difficulties in mathematics so he encourages me to overcome those problems and enable me to like it and be successful in mathematics only by giving some rewards like chocolate and puzzle, chess, etc.

Furthermore, some studies show how close relationship between student and teacher has a direct impact on their efficiency and also engagement level. (Roorda, Jak, Zee,Oort, Koomen, 2017, p.1) In fact ,the  close bond based on respect and trust can build between the teacher and student only when the student feels reluctant to communicate with his/her teacher. For this purpose, there are some special project with like service-learning projects that create a positive relationship between teacher and student give them a better sense of confidence and self-respect as they explore topics that have meaning for them. ( Lubchenko, 2016, p. 1) This kind of mutual connection can benefit the teacher to get more familiar with the personality and character of the student and as a result, the teacher can recognize the weakness and strength of the individual and help the student overcome his weakness and be successful. For illustration, when I was in high school, I could choose my field of study and one of my teachers put his effort to help me to choose wisely.


To conclude, I strongly agree with this idea that the students must like their teacher to learn better, although different learning methods play a key role in the education system.
